Life is something that should be celebrated. Each day that comes is something special. All of us has something important to live for whether it might be our kids, our signifcant others, or our job. Most of us don't take the time to truly appreciate it.
Up until a little about five years ago I was one of those people. I was newly married and enjoying my new life with my wife, but I lived each day like it was just another day. I wasn't fully taking in how great life really was. All of that changed in a split second. As I was walking to work on a busy rush hour morning in Chicago, I was struck by a van that had just run a red light. Everything flashed before my eyes. I didn't know if I was going to live or if I was going to die.
After a few months of rehab I was back to my old self physically, but emotionally my whole life was changed. I no longer lived each day like it was just an ordinary day. I started living life like every day was special. I think most of us take things for granted because we feel like the bad things can't happen to us. Let me be proof that this is the wrong way to live.
The values of companies like Allstate and their motto Allstate Good Life go along ways to me. The importance of life is something they are trying to show every day. We all have something great to look forward to in life, but we also need to make sure we are prepared for the bad that can and sometimes does happen.
Do you have a good life story that you would like to share with the rest of us? It could be something to do with the birth of a child or a move to a new city that helped benefit you or your family. I love hearing about the good things that help change peoples lives.
