When my wife and I first moved to Colorado a little over a year ago, one of the big things we were looking for when house hunting was the outdoor space. We love to be able to have friends over during the summer to grill out and enjoy the outdoors. To really make your outdoor entertaining space complete it take a lot more than a nice yard and patio or deck. You need to have patio furniture, maybe a grill, some even like to put in a fire pit. The cost of all that can really start adding up quick. Here are some great tips for giving yourself a great outdoor space without breaking the budget.
This is probably the obvious tip because I spend my day preaching the use of coupons. They can help you save a lot of money on everything. Did you know that you can find coupons for most home improvement stores? This fall I was able to get a great deal on a new gas grill by using coupons from Home Depot.
Do It Yourself
If you are thinking about building a new patio area, do it yourself instead of hiring a contractor. While you might not be able to do the construction of the patio itself if it requires pouring concrete or building a deck, you can easily take care of all the landscaping around it. This will help save you quite a bit of money for a days worth of work.
Instead of going out and spending $500 or $1,000 on a new patio set, look into buying use. Check out Craigslist because you can usually find some great used items. A lot of times people are upgrading to something new or need to sell because they are moving. Buying used is an easy way to save on your overall expenses.
By following these tips you can give yourself the outdoor living area that you and all your friends will want to spend time in. By doing the work on the cheap it will make it even more enjoyable.
