Selling those Unwanted Gift Cards

Selling those Unwanted Gift Cards

Last week I showed you an article from OneSmartDollar.com about what can go wrong when you try and sell your unwanted gift cards.  Now I want to give you a way to go about it and still feel safe.

Most of us receive at least one gift card over the holidays.  These can be a great gift because it allows us to be able to go out and purchase whatever we want.  It also can be a good thing because you can use it to get an even better deal on an item than you might have been able to get before the holidays.

CardPool.com is a gift card exchange website where you can buy or sell gift cards.  I just spent some time navigating through the website and love how easy it is to use.  All you need to do to sell a gift card is tell them what store the card is from and the value of it.  They will then make you an offer.  I think my favorite part is that you can either have them mail you a check or you can have them give you credit on Amazon.  If you choose a credit on Amazon you will receive an amount 5% greater than.

One of the biggest concerns a lot of people have is about the service that they are going to get.  Well if you want to be reassured than just look at all the companies that are talking about CardPool.com.  They have been featured on NBC, CNN, CBS, FOX Business, The Nate Berkus Show and more.

So if you have any gift cards that you are wanting to get rid of I would suggest checking out CardPool.com.

Disclosure:  I was compensated for this review but everything here is my opinion an no one else’s.

Rethinking 2011 and Setting Financial Goals for 2012

We are now pushing two weeks into the new year and most of us have had some time to get a good start on your new years resolutions. Hopefully none of us have broke them.

One new years resolution for everything each year is to spend more time evaluating your finances. I am a firm believe that because our world is always changing around us we need to be proactive on how we spend and invest our money. This could be a case that gas prices have gone up so we are going to try riding our bike to work if possible or even just reevaluating your investments to changing climates.

OneSmartDollar.com has a good article today on looking back at last year and evaluating what needs to be change to be a more successful person in the coming year.

Personal Finance Article of The Day – Free ATM’s

Occasionally I like to bring you some interesting money saving personal finance articles. Today’s article is about ATM fees.

One of the biggest things I hate is when I go someplace that is cash only and I don’t have cash on me. This means I have to go to an AMt that is not my banks and I end up getting charged the fee from the ATM and also my bank. Well now there is a New York start-up that is offering free ATM fees for just watching a short advertisement before you receive your money.

What do you think about this idea? Would you be will to watch an advertisement to avoid paying the $2-$3 ATM fee?

Personal Finance Article of The Day – Are you Going to Buy your Child an iPad?

Every day I am going to be featuring a personal finance article from around the web. Today there is an article on the trends for children younger and younger asking for high priced electronics as gifts. Some schools are even ordering Apple iPads for entire classes as a tool for learning. With thousands of apps be created from some of top tech company, iPads in the classroom seem like they would be a good investment for learning.

So my question is would you buy your young child an iPad for Christmas if it was proven to help with learning? I asked this question on the FreeSnatcher.com Facebook page earlier today and it got a lot of good responses.

Leave a comment on this post and let me know your thoughts.
